"It is my debut book.
It talks about the life and times of a minority person who happens to be Black and living in one of California’s affluent cities, Saint Helena, based in the glorious Wine Country of Napa California.
Despite his differences, Lee soared to the top of his student body and became student body president before graduating High School."

BOOK REVIEWS
5.0 out of 5 stars An autobiography of believing becoming a reality

I enjoyed this book very much. It was as though I was sitting with Lee Pierce and having him tell me about his life and achievements. Straight forward and a pleasure to read. He learned to believe in himself when a teacher in high school told him he was a leader. He became Student Body President, an African American , in an almost all white school. He was successful in an amazing amount of jobs , learning from each one. He became a successful leader, but always with love and compassion.
I’m enjoying your book very much! I’m learning a lot about you that I never knew. I’m almost halfway through it. Especially liked your account of your grandmother’s peach cobbler! My friend, Snow, has the same memory! 😍 Let me know if you ever find that recipe!
I finished your book and I loved it! It was enlightening to learn about your life experiences- many that I didn’t know. I’m glad that you and Terry worked together back at CETA and HP. You made a special connection with each other and even though we moved away we could always “see you 👀.” I’m grateful to have been part of that friendship. You made little choices along the way (sometimes with the help and nudging from others), to take on new challenges that shaped you into the big hearted man you are today! I can identify with that, as I look forward to back on my own journey and see similarities. I would be honored to contribute towards your efforts to move little Mary Ann to join your Dad in the main St. Helena Cemetery, where she belongs.
Love,
Marilyn Green❤️

AUTHOR BIO
Lee J. Pierce
Lee and his wife, Dianne, live in California’s Sonoma County wine country, in the city of Santa Rosa, the largest city north of the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border. It is also, a convenient location to meet up and spend time with nearby family members! Lee just turned 77 years old in March of 2024. He has been an avid member of his local health club (The Parkpoint Club) for more than 40 years and was just recently highlighted as “Member of the Month!” Lee is a gregarious guy who loves meeting new people, without regard to gender, ethnicity, culture, age, nor any other distinction! Lee believes that we all benefit somehow from every encounter.
With his vast career in foodservice and his recent transition to a vegan diet, Lee loves experimenting with food preparation and searching for new places to enjoy a vegan meal. Lee loves music of most genres! Lee enjoys various music genres! His iPod is loaded (young people, ask your parents or grandparents what an iPod is?) with top hits from the 1970’s through the 1990’s! It is the same music Lee had been listening to since the purchase of his iPod! Lee’s soundtrack includes soul, rhythm and blues, some hip- hop and even some rap. As an avid music lover, he says it is his motivator, while working out and challenging his own “personal-best “cardio records weekly, most of the time! Lee, while doing household chores and / or meal prep, is also known to play his “favorite soundtrack” because he says there’s a synergy between the music and his meal preparation. His wife, Dianne, says not only does she enjoy Lee’s cooking, but she too loves watching his “made-to-order performance!”
Lee also enjoys a day on the links with his brother-in-law, Bob, when he is available.
This book is Lee’s first effort as an author. He has found that this stroll down” memory lane” had its highs and lows, but in the end, “memory lane” has brought him to where he is today – a truly happy and grateful soul.
